For years, Asian societies only played a relatively minor role, i.e., as rule-taker rather than rule-maker, in the making of modern international law. To change this condition, it is imperative for Asian scholars, practitioners, officials and diplomats to be highly skilled and knowledgeable in understanding and shaping a continuously changing international law environment. To that end, International Law Faculty - Ho Chi Minh City Law University together with the Centre for International Law - National University of Singapore, and Faculty of Economic Law - University of Economic and Law, will host an online workshop via Zoom from 7 to 8 April 2021 on ‘Teaching and Researching International Law in Asia (TRILA)’.
The TRILA Vietnam Workshop aims to:
• Discuss the challenges and issues in international law teaching and researching in Viet Nam and other ASEAN countries
• Explore and discuss teaching materials, methods, assessments, and formulation of syllabus
• Discuss writing for publication, research methods, and varieties of scholarship
• Serve as a platform for selected young Vietnamese scholars to present their current research projects.
The presenters of the Workshop are the leading International Law Scholars from Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.
This workshop is free and by selection only. To enable a greater degree of engagement between the speakers and the participants, the maximum number of participants shall be limited to 30. Trong nhiều thập niên, các nước châu Á chỉ đóng một vai trò tương đối nhỏ trong việc xây dựng và phát triển luật pháp quốc tế hiện đại; chủ yếu chỉ đóng vai người áp dụng luật lệ, hơn là người tạo ra luật lệ. Để thay đổi điều kiện này, đòi hỏi các học giả, nhà thực hành luật, nhà làm luật và nhà ngoại giao châu Á phải có kỹ năng và kiến thức cao để hiểu và định hình một môi trường luật quốc tế liên tục thay đổi. Sự trao đổi, chia sẻ kinh nghiệm và kiến thức giữa các giảng viên của các cơ sở đào tạo luật quốc tế ở châu Á là rất quan trọng.
Khoa Luật Quốc tế (Trường Đại học Luật Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh) cùng với Trung tâm Luật Quốc tế (Đại học quốc gia Singapore) và Khoa Luật Kinh tế (Trường Đại học Kinh tế Luật) sẽ tổ chức hội thảo trực tuyến chủ đề 'Giảng dạy và Nghiên cứu Luật Quốc tế ở Châu Á' (Teaching and Researching International Law in Asia - TRILA)', trong hai ngày 7-8/4/2021. Ngôn ngữ của toạ đàm là tiếng Anh.
Hội thảo TRILA Việt Nam nhằm tới các mục đích sau:
* Thảo luận về những thách thức và vấn đề trong giảng dạy và nghiên cứu luật quốc tế ở Việt Nam và các nước ASEAN khác.
* Khám phá và thảo luận về tài liệu giảng dạy, phương pháp, đánh giá và xây dựng giáo trình.
* Thảo luận về cách viết để xuất bản, phương pháp nghiên cứu và các trường phái học thuật.
* Phục vụ như một nền tảng cho các học giả trẻ Việt Nam được chọn trình bày các dự án nghiên cứu hiện tại của họ.
